Andreas is currently studying towards his PhD. His work includes the development of image acquisition systems and the application of these systems through Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) to study the turbulent separated flow over a blunt flat plate.
He is developing a twin 35mm film camera image acquisition system that can acquire image pairs with any time separation. This allows these images to be used in conjunction with a cross-correlation analysis. This solves the problems of directional ambiguity with many of the disadvantages of image shifting.
