A visualization of forced homogeneous isotropic turbulence at Re(lambda) = 71. The Yellow "Worms" are focal structures which are being stretched. The Blue regions are focal structures which are being contracted.

The interaction of two vortices.

The initial condition of the Taylor-Green vortex simulation.

Turbulent flow past an aerofoil. This could be the flow past a Single Element Spoiler for example.

Vortex Breakdown in the TRL swirling rig.

Mean kinetic energy contours of the flow past a backward facing step at a Reynolds number of 4680. The step height is represented by h. The data was obtained using digital PIV.

Mean streamwise velocity contours of the flow past a backward facing step at a Reynolds number of 4680. The step height is represented by h. The data was obtained using digital PIV.

The probability that the seperation bubble is within this region. The experiment was performed at ReH=1000 on a blunt flat plate.

Laser-induced fluorescence image of a laminar Vortex Ring. The ring is generated by the injection of a slug of fluid through an orifice at the right. The flow was visualized with kiton dye in water. Reynolds number based on Orifice Diameter is 960.

These images show a sample of the variety of flow patterns possible in ZNMF jet flows. The flow is visualized by injecting a small amount of Kiton Red dye into the jet and then illuminating a plane with a laser sheet at 32 nm (false colour).
