The Laboratory for Turbulence Research in Aerospace & Combustion (LTRA&C) at Monash University investigates the fluid mechanics and turbulence structure of generic high Reynolds number flows. State-of-the-art experimental techniques including the use of lasers, optics and digital image processing provide complete instantaneous measurements of turbulent velocity fields while Direct Numerical Simulations on supercomputers are used in complementary studies of "Simple Geometry Complex Fluid Mechanics".
